Kris is an enthusiastic photographer and artist, currently living in Minnesota. She jokingly refers to her current home as "the great land of the Mall of America", but admits she has never completely explored the Mall. One thing she appreciates about her current home is the abundance of small lakes. Each of these offers a potential subject for her ever-present camera. A native of Virginia, she readily admits to missing one thing about her former home; the beach. For all of the lakes in Minnesota, there is nothing quite like the ocean!

"If I had to label my work, the word that fits is odd. Others might choose weird or strange but that's ok. I find imagery in the unusual and I have a direct connection with my art. They speak to me and touch me. If you are an artist of any kind, whatever your medium; photography, painting, sculpting, writing, or whatever your choice, you most likely understand exactly what I mean!"

Kris' other occupation is a different form of art. She is a web designer and owns BlackPort Design, LLC.
